  6. This turned out so pretty! I just finished painting a similar style desk for my sister in law. We went black and silver though. The grey and gold is really nice, too, though.

    1. Thank you so much! I did silver and black on a french provincial piece already too and it’s also a very pretty combination.

I love the desk. I have a similar style desk that had a leather top that was torn, so I pulled it all off. There is a groove all the way around and two inches in on the desk top now. Any ideas about how I can finish the top off? Thanks! PS My daughter-in-law is from Kempen, Germany. She is an interpreter and Crochet genius.

    1. Wow, a crochet genius! Love it!
That’s a tough one with the leather top. Could you use a peace of cork board? or do you want it to be one smooth finish?

  10. i painted an almost identical desk. White was my color of choice, but I also left the original hardware!! wish I would have photographed it 🙁 yours is beautiful!

    1. That’s so cool. Always take pictures 😉 Did you keep it or sell it?

  11. Hi there. I am doing a desk at the moment that looks very similar. Just wondering how you stripped back your handles to original gold? My ones look the same as yours before they were stripped with the green stuff?
