Bombay Dog Table Makeover
Years and years ago I was a huge fan of Bombay Company furniture. The days when they still had stores at the mall. God that seams like a lifetime ago… my taste has changed completely since then.
During that time I purchased this dog, I named him Hugo.
Poor little doggy was kind of beat up and I’ve been trying to sell him on craigslist, but nobody wanted him. Hmm, I wonder why, haha! Poor little fella.
I need some extra table space during the holidays for people to put their drinks down, so I thought why not give poor Hugo another chance and see if paint could help him out.
I cleaned Hugo and primed him with Kilz spray primer. Then I used some leftover paint to change him up a bit.
Hugo is looking good for the Holidays and he got a super spot for a beverage.
Look at my camera reflection. I’m such a dork! |
My son calls him zombie dog because his eyes are white now.
I also thought about painting him yellow after the holidays and putting zombie dog in my son’s room. Would be fun 😉
Well anyways, Hugo has a new purpose over the Holidays and I like him for now.
On Saturday I also made the silhouettes for Andrea from Oak Ridge Revival who was the winner of my giveaway. You can still get one for yourself as a last minute gift in my Etsy shop.
Yesterday, I was out with the stomach bug and I’m still not back to normal this morning.
What have you been up to over the weekend? How do you deal with this tragedy in your home? Did you talk to your children? If so what did you say?
Talk to you on Wednesday.

first of all- the dog is awesome! if you tried to sell him now it would be easy!
second of all, i told my kids last night. i wanted to be the one to tell them- heading back to school today i was worried they might be misinformed and scared by peers. i wanted them to know about the teachers who died protecting their students so they would know how much their teachers care about them and will always keep them safe. i still can’t believe i had to talk to them about it.
Thanks Cassie!
Yes, it is so unbelievable to have to talk about this with your children. They are not as scared as I’m tough.

Hugo is adorable in white and your room looks amazing.
My son is ten so we had some discussions about it yesterday. Mostly we talked about the good we see in the world and focusing on being a part of that good.
Thanks Sherry! My son is also 10 years old and at that age they start asking difficult questions that are sometimes very hard to answer.

Vielen, vielen Dank Lydia!
Hugo rocks! I don’t think I could ever part with him. I’d be like parting with an old friend who has a new lease on life. The white’s terrific! You may have started something here…picture eBay all a-flutter with Hugos up for grabs! If he was mine, he wouldn’t be going anywhere. I heart him. Hx
I think I heart him again too 😉 and thanks Heather!
