Navy blue and white design board
Like I said on Monday I want to share one of the design boards with you that I have done recently and which kept me quite busy. I don’t share them all on my blog since some clients prefer not to have them shared.
I get a lot of requests for the same or horizontal striped curtains that I have and thanks to Pottery Barn Kids and Crate and Barrel that is possible without having to paint them like me (click HERE to see mine).
In the four upcoming moodboards I changed out only the living room rug just to show you the difference a rug can make. I like them all.
The round table is for a dining area and would require (of course) 4 or more of the same chairs I have.
If you are wondering where I found the first dark blue rug, then I have to tell you that I can’t find it anymore on Overstock. Drove me nuts. Sorry!
For this room the client wanted a recliner. You can’t even tell that the pretty sea foam colored chair is a recliner, right? So pretty!

Boards are very time consuming! These look great and I bet your client is thrilled. Good work finding a recliner that’s stylish. That’s not an easy feat!
Love the navy and white mood board and it’s neat to see it this way! I love the first rug the best and I also love the last one with the sea grass rug.
I’m so drawn to the star rug and the first one. It’s busy but I love mixing patterns. Her room was huge so it’s not actually cramped like it shows on the board.
Fun! I love the first and last!
you know i love these! that first one is my favorite!
It is hard to believe that the chair is a recliner. It is also amazing what a difference a rug can make.
My vote is for the first rug. You’re right, swapping out rugs changes the entire look and feel of a room. Lovely job!
Great boards. And yes, I’m still trying to figure out how that chair is a recliner…looks too nice!
That first rug is killer, I love it! My mom recently bought a recliner but I never would have guessed it was one and it’s so comfortable! I’m glad they are starting to look better! Great boards!
I like that first rug the best! Though I think all the boards look great – you’re right, amazing what a difference just the rug makes!
I’m loving the gold and white and navy with the hit of coral- so pretty!! I love the first rug too!
So pretty! That star rug is really cool–not something you see every day! And trying to find things again on Overstock drives me insane–it’s impossible!
I didnt even know you did this. The recliners I have to say are Caroline approved. Which is incredibly rare and my husband still doesnt need to know about them lol. He is ridiculous in his tastes!
So pretty, the first rug is my favorite, beautiful combinations! I didn’t know you did e-design either!
What a great way to illustrate the impact of a rug. The design boards are great. I really like the first rug – how the navy contrasts with the light sofa. And amen for pretty recliners!
These are fancy! I really like the first one. It is crazy how just a rug can change up a whole space!
Gorgeous boards…it’s amazing how a simple rug swap can change the mood of a room! I love them all, I’m having a hard time figuring out which is my favorite! Talented girl!!
Ahhh yes, the age old question: should the living and dining room rugs be the same kind, match or just go… I struggle with that..I love that blue and white diamond rug in the top photo a whole lot. Also a big fan of the sisal rug 🙂
The rugs make such a difference especially since the pattern would be on such a large area. Love the graphic quality of the first rug and the touches of corral/pink and gold.
Navy is one of my new favorite neutrals. It’s amazing what a difference just changing out the rug makes!
I love them all too – my favorite is board #1 with the mix of rugs. I’m loving blue after hating it for years!

I really like the rug in the first image. It is BEAUTIFUL!
