Living Pretty With Your Pets: Go Haus Go
Pet Series Friday it is once again and I’m so super happy to finally have Emily from Go Haus Go for a visit on this little blog. I was so super excited to meet Emily in person at Haven and I love her even more now. She really has crazy good style and you probably have seen some photos of her home on Apartment Therapy already. She was one of the three finalist for the 2014 Small Cool (Smallest Cool Home Contest) and her makeovers are getting featured over there as well quite frequently. You can see her house tour by clicking HERE.
Ahh! I was so excited when Julia asked me to be a part of her pet series. It’s one of my favorites on the interwebs and I love learning that so many of us are pet people. I did a totally ridiculous mini photo shoot with our two pups, Biggie and Suge, last weekend and this is the result. Imagine Aaron waving his arms around making noises while I try to hang on to these poor pups for dear life. It was quite comical. I’ll post the outtakes on my blog later, but for now, here are some decent ones for you. Meet Biggie and Suge.
Biggie is our 7-year-old Chihuahua. We’ve been through so much together. Before Aaron, before this house, before my life was steady… it was Biggie and I.
I got Biggie from what I thought was a reputable breeder in central Kentucky, but it turned out to be a little bit of a puppy mill. They were selling hoards of chihuahua puppies. It was so sad and Biggie was the smallest by far, not weighing even a pound. He got sick as soon as we got home and for awhile, things did not go well for him. After a lot of care from both me and his vet, he is the strong little pup you see today. The vet stills tells me she’s can’t believe he made it through.
Biggie is the best chihuahua because he is not a yappy chihuahua. I have heard him bark maybe 10 times his whole life. He is sweet to everyone. When the electrician or plumber is here, Biggie has no problems sitting on his/her lap. His only complaint in life is his younger, but much bigger dog-brother steals his toys. Speaking of the dog-brother, we love Biggie but we have a second love in our lives… the one and only Suge the Boston Terrier.
Suge has a much more stable background than Biggie but Suge is triple (no, quadruple!) the wild. He’s also the biggest Boston Terrier on the planet at a whopping 31 pounds. Most Bostons are in the 18-22 pound range? Anyways, he’s big. Solid as a rock and super powerful. Tennis balls are his life’s passion—a Boston Terrier through and through.
He drives us crazy but it’s a crazy we love and accept and in a weird way, look forward to. And he’s really good at loving us right back. He is a lover to the core. He likes to lean on you with his paw always on you. He snuggles and kisses and just generally wants to be sweet all around. Kids scare him and other dogs make him very nervous, but he’s getting better and better. I told Aaron this looks like a cheesy stock photo. Lol.
Biggie and Suge together are hilarious. Biggie is the boss of the two (Chihuahua to the core) but Suge likes to test his boundaries. During the day they get on each other’s nerves (see below) but at night they snuggle and lick each other’s faces. You know, dog-brother stuff.
Suge’s not impressed by this photo shoot, if you couldn’t tell. And Biggie wants to know if I have any treats. Anyways, thanks for humoring me with my weird little photo shoot and peeking into the lives of me and our dogs! And thanks so much to Julia for having me! xo, Emily

Ah bostons are the best! :p This totally makes me want to get Charlie a brother but if we are living in a RV, I think three animals might be more than enough. But if we did get a Biggie, he wouldnt take up too much space 😉
