Signature Style Series
A big welcome to all you fabulous peeps coming over from Capturing Joy with Kristen Duke. I hope to meet a lot of amazing new readers today. That’s one of the most exiting things about being a blogger.
I’m so thrilled to be part of this amazing series this week. Thanks so much sweet Carrie for asking me to join! Have you checked out her signature style yet? If not then I tell you that you should by clicking HERE! I also love finding out more about all the fabulous blogs that are included in this blog hop.
I summed up my style with my living room in the board below, although there is so much more I could have picked:
I’m just going to pretend that y’all are new to my blog today because if you’ve been around for a while then you know how much I love quirky animal decor. I absolutely love the brass peacocks in my board above. They aren’t mine yet, but I’d love to change that 😉
Although I recently painted an accent wall in my kitchen mint (Mint Whisper 5008-7A Valspar Reserve), I tend to keep my walls mostly neutral because I love changing out all the other colorful accents in our house frequently.
Keeping the walls mostly neutral allows me the freedom to have those colorful accents.
The grey in my living room is Seashell Gray 4003-1A, the white that I used for the walls in my dining room and kitchen are Ultra White (7006-24) and the black for the accent wall in my hallway and closet are Dark Kettle Black (4011-2). They are all by Valspar and all in eggshell.
I can’t live without a good black and white pattern in every room. I crave it and it’s a total must. Stripes, dots, crosses and other black and white patterns, they are all there.
I love mixing metals and I don’t think I will ever get sick of that. Silver, copper and gold all live happily together in my spaces.
All this extends to our backyard as well. In the outdoors I also love mixing textures, different greens and colors.
I’m pretty colorful but haven’t always been like this. It took me a long time to get here. I have gotten a lot braver because I learned to just go with my instinct and to not care what other people think. I’m ok with the fact that this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But if it is also yours then you can check out my other projects HERE and my daughter’s room HERE.
Why did I mix in a loafer on my “Signature Style” board up above you might ask? Well chances are you will see me wear leopard loafers if you run into me on a regular day. I just love them and the shoe pictured above is just so comfortable! I have to order another pair because my old ones are so worn down 😉
To make the circle complete for today make sure to hop on over to my friend Jessica from Decor Adventures who is first on the list.
And check back on Friday because there will be an amazing giveaway thanks to Carrie!

I love your style and the way you mix colors, textures and metals. Perfect. Everything looks amazing.
I am in leopard loafers like 90% of the time. We are basically soul mates. I had a friend get the silver peacock set from Dwell for my birthday. You should check that out!

I hold you personally responsible for the small collection of animal plates I’ve recently acquired from West Elm. Waiting for the UPS man to deliver one on Tuesday as a matter of fact. Just thought you should know 🙂
Haha, I’m glad!
Julia! Your style is my style. A rare thing! I always say my style is pretty classic but with something whimsical in every room.
Bravo.
