Pearl City Click Bamboo – revealing my new floor
What a fun weekend it was and so so hot. And I’m so glad that I was able to put in the flooring before the kid’s summer break. I swear I feel like I won’t get anything done with them home now. Crazy!
First of all, if you are new here, you can see HERE and HERE why I chose the Peal City Click Bamboo from Lumber Liquidators and how I installed it.
I do feel like it was my own marathon to finish the floor. This is where I get super competitive and I want to accomplish it. Now that it is done, I really feel good about doing it myself, and let’s face it, what’s the worst that could happen? If I would have noticed that I couldn’t do it, then I could have still hired someone, right?
The worst part was clearly having to move the furniture out to get the job done.
I will show you my bedroom today and the kids’ rooms on Wednesday.
I love how smooth the floor is and the look is just what I wanted. I took all the photos with no area rugs on purpose. When winter comes around I will add one in the rooms.
UPDATE: see how my bedroom has changed since HERE.
I love having the bamboo in my walk-in closet now too:
For the transition into the bathroom tile, I just used our old brass strips instead of the suggested bamboo strips (which I thought were raised too high) and I love the look:
I don’t really have any awful before photos since the carpet looked ok because of the way I cleaned it (HERE). The areas that were awful were the edges like I mentioned before. We had a huge issue with black dust that settled everywhere in the corners. And the evidence of how bad the rugs actually were and how much I cleaned were visible on the bottom of the carpet and pads.
See above how bad it was and I had the worst sneezing attacks taking this dusty carpet out. Yuck!
You can see HERE how my kiddos’ rooms look with the new flooring.

Also totally impressed that you installed it! You go girl!
Girl Power 😉 thanks Kim
Stunning!! Absolutely incredible job Julia! It completely changed the look in there. Do you think the lighter floors are harder to keep clean? I was entertaining the idea of doing white flooring in my office upstairs, but I thought it might be a nightmare to keep clean. Also are those plants real? Because whoa. Amazing my friend.
NO not at all, they are much easier to keep clean than dark flooring and the reason for me always going with light floors. Dust doesn’t show up at all.
I’m absolutely obsessed Julia!! I’m going to have to find a lumber liquidators in my area and snag a whole house full of that stuff!!
This is beautiful! Amazing you did it yourself! I love the good balance of dark and light colors. I really your bed/headboard. Where is it from?
It is from Magnussen Furniture but they don’t sell it anymore. And thanks so so much.
