Big welcome if you are coming from my friend Jennifer’s at The Chronicles of Home. Isn’t her setting so so pretty and we even used some of the same items even though we didn’t talk about it.
In Germany we celebrate a harvest festival at church on the first Sunday in October and people bring harvest items to the altar which in many cases gets donated to food banks after the service. I’m not religious by any means but I do call myself spiritual and I think everyone should be thankful for the food they have. I tell my kids that every day.
For my table setting I tried to focus on the food and harvest aspect and keep the rest of the setting simple.
For the place settings I used our wedding china, the gold bamboo flatware (they have a set on Etsy HERE) I purchased at the auction a couple of weeks ago and some gold and silver chargers (similar to this one HERE). I didn’t want to include too much pattern so the harvest food would have center stage so I only used white linen napkins and as the runner I used a clipping of my copper wall vinyl. Boy that stuff is versatile, I love it so much.
If you don’t have vinyl around the house like me, you could use a copper metallic runner like THIS one on Etsy and it would look fabulous. Don’t you think so?
Oh and by the way in the background you can see my new curtains that I just made. Click HERE to see the tutorial.
If you can’t find brass candlesticks at the thrift shop like I did, but want the same look, then you should check out these new sticks HERE.
I hope you liked what you saw.
