New Fabulous Pillows
Hey there friends. I think I’m back to blogging. I’ve certainly been dragging my feet, there is no doubt about that. With my little part time job, a time consuming photoshoot (which I will get to later), some personal issues and having so many other things to do… I really haven’t had any desire to write a blog post.
If you follow me on Instagram and saw my stories then you already know that Better Homes and Gardens Christmas Ideas was at my house after Christmas to take photos for their 2017 issues which will be coming out at the end of November/beginning of December. They didn’t photograph my denim blue Christmas though because they already had a tour with blue and had asked me to add my pink from last year again which I did. That was a big time commitment though and I had not anticipated to literally redecorate for Christmas after Christmas. All the dead greenery had to get replaced too. And then the photoshoot was over the second load of Christmas decor had to be put away. I was really really sick of it by that time, can you imagine?
The shoot itself was so much fun again and I love chatting and learning from other likeminded creative people. It really is awesome.
The two times a crew has come to my house they have requested that I’d remove my room divider which has been hiding my unfinished stairs and a small vacuum cleaner. To me it just makes it cozier than the black hole of the staircase. Now my kids are divided, the one wants to leave it and the other one wants it gone. I’m still undecided, especially since I love the convenience of having the vacuum cleaner there.
And I also don’t know where to put the wood bead garland I had hanging on it. I love it so much but can’t find another spot for it.

Above you can see the still unfinished steps. The primer is all dirty now. Ugh! It really needs to get done once it’s time to be able to have the windows open again.
Before Christmas I found a vintage glass lamp at Goodwill which I now placed into the dining room.

I really loved having my white round table next to the settee over Christmas and want to find a similarly scaled table. The iron one from my nesting tables I placed here is just temporary since I don’t like the size and how visible the cords are.
I also found these braided big pillows at HomeGoods over the holidays which I placed in our bedroom. They look very similar to the new fabulous line at Target. I love them and they are perfect for the bed since they are a tad bit scratchy and stiff and not perfect for the sofa.

Before Christmas our 21 year old Manx cat Heidi started declining in health and lost half of her body weight. She was anemic and looked and acted awful. After a vet visit she is now on steroids and an antibiotic which has upped her red blood cells again and her appetite has improved. I had really thought she wouldn’t make it to Christmas but she has somewhat bounced back. Well as much as a really old cat can. I love her so and hate to see her this way but she certainly has had a long content and happy life.
I also had to snap some photos of our sweet Lucy napping with her tail draped and tucked under her head serving as a pillow.

Speaking of the pillow, it is one of the pillows I mentioned in the one short post I wrote after Christmas. You can see the fabulous dusty shade of pink. Isn’t it pretty?

You can also see number 2 and 4 on the sofa in the living room. I love them.
Oh and my computer broke again. The logic board of my MacBook Pro broke for a third time and I had to buy a new one since they don’t make the logic board anymore. I was so annoyed. They gave me a $500 credit towards a new computer though and 3 years of free Apple care. It was still a huge amount of unexpected cash I had to cough up.
On Wednesday I’ll get to the personal part I mentioned above.
Tschüß and have a great week.

i vote no divider! i love it! i can see you doing one of those cool black and white moroccan tile look paint treatments on the stairs. oh and i love that drum and the new bedroom pillows!
glad you are back!
I think I will keep it out for a while. Now I’m trying to find a new spot for the wooden garland 😉
Welcome back! I’m having a hard time getting motivated, too–I’ve gotten a couple of posts done, but I have a million projects I need to get started on, and so far I’d rather just hang out and do nothing on weekends :). Love your new lamp!
YES, same here. Or I just want to do it and not document it yah know? Hope that slump goes away for both of us.
Oh I love it with the divider and without too. Both are wonderful. I just love your rooms. Glad to see you posting again and I can’t wait to see your Christmas issue in November.
Hi Marty! I will live without the divider for a while. I guess I’ll walk some stairs to get my vacuum cleaner 😉
Welcome back. I love seeing your house again and of course sleeping kitties.
Thanks Debra, you can never have enough photos of sleeping kitties, right?
Welcome back! Tough call with the room divider. I really like it without, but that wood garland is so neat, seems a shame not to be able to showcase that. I’m sure you will be able to find a new great place for it, and the vacuum 🙂
Think I might have to go back and look at those pillows online again and purchase a few for a nice little update to my house.
I’m searching franticly for a new garland spot, believe me 😉
Of course everything is beautiful or BHG would not be there! All is still wonderful in your house for me. I can tell you to prepare to say bye to your kitty, but that is just impossible. I know. I wish I could hold Lucy just once.
I know her time is coming Sheryll 🙁 And do you know that Lucy hates to be held. It’s actually hilarious how she struggles when you pick her up
Welcome back!!! At least one of us is, I am definatly in need for a break from blogging.
And I do agree with Cassie, try without the devider for a couple of weeks. LOve the look you have going at the moment!
Hugs from me.
Betty
Thanks Betty. Hang in there, you should take all the time you need. We’ll still be here. Thinking of you and hugs from me too.
Gorgeous!! I’m obsessed with H&M pillows – such a great price and good quality!
Thanks Sarah and me too
