  1. Julia that looks so cool! You did a great hiding those stars and using what you got. I swear we’re always on the same blog train of thought!

    1. Thanks and yeah, how about it, I swear I didn’t see your post before I posted mine and we both worked on our kitchen window and talked about learning how to use our camera.

  2. Beautiful! Any chance you can show us how you made the cornice?

    1. I could come up with some childish drawings again to show how I built it 😉

  3. Oh my, now those stripes on your cornice board look fantastic.

Why didn’t you just shut the (aren’t there Roman Shades on the window?) and turn on a bright light next to the window? Move a lamp temporarily?

Then too, I might not understand what is causing the shadow either. lol

    1. Thanks! I didn’t want to shut the roman shades because I would have loved to see the view. A fresh cover of snow is always a pretty sight 🙂 The shadow is from my flash, which I hate using even though I’m using a flash defuser and some other stuff.

  4. Congratulations! You are so deserving! You do a fabulous job on your blog!

    Love the new striped curtain!

  5. Great job. Can you tell us how the fabric is attached to the cornice? I have an ugly cornice I would love to cover with fabric!! Thanks.

    1. I stapled it to my DIY MDF cornice. Maybe I’ll write a post on Friday or next week about how all that was done.

  6. Congrats on the nomination! Love the ombre stripes on the window treatment!

  7. OMG i LOVE this!!! I’m going to have to look into doing something like this too! GREAT idea!

  8. What a great way to update! Hurray for the power of paint! Love the new look, Julia!

Hmm.. the cornice looks better even though the star print is much more fun. Ombre is the thing today, after all. It adds a different kind of charm. It was a successful transformation!
