Dark green walls with yellow accents
I decided to add a little fun accent to the door because I didn’t want his room to look too grown up and have some fun elements yet too. The cuckoo clock is perfect for that wall too, don’t you think so?
The lamp is from Ikea as well. It’s only $10 and you can’t beat that. I forgot to mention it in Friday’s post (click HERE if you missed it). It’s perfect for his cozy bed though because I’m not bringing his old beside table back. It just took too much space. The green medal is from his most important Wrestling tournament that he placed in so far and he loves it.

Oh and by the way I found a bed online that is pretty similar to his and also an antique. Click HERE to see.
I love the new trash can I found at HoemGoods because my son sometimes forgets to use the trash yah know?!?
In the photo above you can see the deep scratches in his shelving unit.
I’m hoping that I can throw out the shelving unit at some point because of those mentioned scratches and holes. He barely has any toys left in his room and it would be nice to find something vintage or antique for his room. He said he would love to have something different as well.
The skull photograph is from a former Halloween post I did but he took the photo of it. You can find the travel post HERE. It’s a church entirely made out of human bones. He says it’s one of the coolest things he’s ever seen. (You can actually download the same photo in my post HERE)
How perfectly does that wall color match the Ikea curtains? Right? It’s Deepest River by Valspar and we couldn’t love it more.
On his Ikea roller shade I came up with a different idea. Since he was little he’s been collecting pins of places he’s been too or things he’s accomplished. He used to wear a little hat that had all the pins on it but he also lost a lot of them. As a teenager now, he doesn’t want to wear the pins anymore but he loves them. So I painted a little dark green stripe and attached the remaining pins to the shade. Hopefully I can replace the pins he’s lost and make his collection complete again.
I made him a poster inspired by the 2014 world cup retro logos. He wanted Germany since he is German and they won the World Cup. He was so upset when the US didn’t even qualify for the 2018 world cup but he has Germany to cheer for again.
And somehow I managed to order the wrong amount of chrome bulbs (click HERE) as you can see in the above photo there are some missing. I found the below African basket at HomesGoods for only $16. I love it against the green walls. You can find a similar one HERE and HERE.
I also ordered him the below chair yet for his room (click HERE):
And I couldn’t help but take photos of our Maya who wanted to be in the photos in the worst way.
The sun was hitting her just in the right spots and she was enjoying herself.
The worst part is over aka painting for this little makeover. I painted it from top to bottom, even the ceiling and also updated the smoke detector. I can’t wait to receive the last couple of pieces to make the room complete.
Finding a vintage or antique desk would be so wonderful too. My parents have several. There is one in my old room in Germany which would be perfect for his room now and I wish I could just ship it here but it’s too expensive unfortunately. That’s it for today and talk to you soon.
