I posted on Facebook and Instagram yesterday for the first time again and wrote this “I’m still here you guys! I’ve been stuck somewhere between blog maintenance, snow days, overeating, a part time job and blog maintenance and no desire to write blog posts. I need to find my mojo again! Im not sure were I left it though. At least I have all my Christmas decor packed away…”
So about that…
Overeating and drinking…
…is always an issue during the holidays, I know I’m not alone. The other day I pretty much slapped myself because I know I need to stop this. I’m way uncomfortable with where I am physically right now and I think the heaviest I have been since being pregnant. So I did a lot of research of what I want to do and how I want to change. At the end of 2017 I went to physical therapy for my pulsating tinnitus, back pain, jaw and shoulder pain. During that period I became completely aware of the fact that I need to focus more on myself again which includes using all my muscles, stretching and getting a massage here and there. The posture I have while sitting on my laptop is really bad.
So a week ago I just pretended that I didn’t have wrist issues and started a beginner’s yoga challenge on YouTube called 30 days of yoga with Adrienne. The easy and slow process of learning yoga again has not been bad for my wrists and I adore Adrienne’s approach. She not only teaches you the moves but also the breathing and focusing on yourself. It feels amazing and I know I will keep using her videos. I started with her old challenge but she actually came out with a new one too. She has all kinds of really great specific yoga videos. Yoga for beginners, for teachers, for weight loss, for concentration, for bedtime, for hips and core… you name it and she’s got it and it’s for free.
Another thing I started to do is learning how to count macros. There is so much to it but I found an app that makes it easier which is called MyMacros+ and so far I think it’s pretty awesome and makes total sense. When you count macro nutrients you make sure that you don’t just count calories but also the right ratio of carbs, protein and fat. I’m a firm believer that your body needs all of it and with that approach you make sure you eat the right calorie combination. It’s not easy and I’m hoping that I will get the hang of it soon. Maybe by spring time I will feel a lot better again.
I have been focusing on the blog and my family for so long that it really is time to focus on myself during the day as well.
… is also an area that I neglect during the year because I’d rather make pretty things, photograph the projects and write about them than do all the technical boring stuff. It catches up with me just like my body and I have to try to fix it. I’m currently taking an SEO workshop and trying to work on some other things.
I finished a movie from an old project. It would have been a total waste not to get that movie cut together since I had all the clips for it. The movie is about the little fabric and wool tassels I made in this post HERE and below you can see my video.
I’m trying to fit in the time to make a video about my huge tassel DIY (click HERE) since some of you asked if I would. And I’m definitely planning on it.
Those videos will also be stored on my YouTube channel (click HERE) which has been a total learning curve in itself and I do have to say that I suck at it and I’d rather make videos where you can’t see my face.
So if you are a YouTube fan then click HERE and maybe subscribe to my channel via the red button.
part time job…
… well yes I’m still working in the local ski resort’s clothing store and am actually loving it since it’s something completely different and I get to meet a lot of new people. It certainly makes the sport of skiing a lot more affordable for us if I do.
So bear with me if I’m going through a little blog slump. I will post whenever I can. I promise.
